A total of 1171 patients were included and followed for a median of 43 months. Three-year disease-free survival was better after robotic surgery (87.2 versus 83.4 per cent): hazard ratio 0.74, 95 per cent confidence interval 0.56 to 0.98, P=0.4. Overall survival rates were similar.
Comment: Evidence that robotic surgery may make a difference in oncological outcomes.
