We are the trainee section of the Association of Upper GI Surgeons (AUGIS). We represent the views of trainees in all branches of upper gastrointestinal surgery.

The Roux Training Congress is the flagship annual educational event delivered by the Roux Group on behalf of AUGIS. The Congress is designed to provide high-quality, clinical updates and educational content tailored to the needs of surgical trainees. Talks will be delivered by a faculty of nationally and internationally renowned experts, with a programme that is relevant, contemporary, and aligned with current training and FRCS examination requirements. The event is particularly popular with senior trainees, while remaining accessible and valuable across all stages of training.

Alongside core educational sessions, the Congress will maintain a strong focus on research and academic development. Dedicated oral presentation sessions will be held, with prizes awarded in both junior and senior categories. The congress includes multidisciplinary cancer care, peri-operative optimisation, benign and bariatric surgery updates, and complex clinical decision-making. By strengthening trainees' understanding of contemporary surgical and oncological pathways aligned with current guidelines, the meeting supports high-quality clinical decision-making and ongoing professional development.
