Around one third of patients with colorectal cancer have altered P13K pathway genes. In a study of 1103 patients, 160mg aspirin a day reduced recurrence rate after three years, both in patients with group A alterations (7.7 versus 14.1 per cent, P=0.04) and group B alterations (7.7 versus 16.8 per cent).
Comment: Worth identifying and treating these individuals.
