Lancet Gastrohep 2025; 10: 806-817.
In this study that included 766 procedures, use of fluorescence angiography did not reduce the postoperative leak rate: 10 per cent versus 15 per cent in the control group, P=0.087.
Comment: The technique may be of benefit in reducing minor leaks, but not major ones requiring reintervention.
