This multicentre RCT included 39 patients who received sacral nerve stimulation with an implanted pulse generator vs. sham, demonstrating non-significant reduction in faecal incontinence episodes/week in the intervention group (mean difference -0.795, 95 per cent confidence interval -1.5 to 0.0, p=0.06).
Comment: Very small study that did not reach target sample size.
