Effect of prucalopride to improve time to gut function recovery following elective colorectal surgery: randomized clinical trial.

Return of gut function was not improved by prucalopride, a serotonin agonist, 2 mg given before surgery and 2 mg daily for six days, in this study that included 148 patients.

Comment: Disappointing.
