A multicentre RCT of 113 patients showed that intradermal sutures and metallic staples resulted in similar surgical site infection rates (7.1 per cent vs. 5.3 per cent, p=0.769). Rates of lymphocele, haematoma, and lymphorrhoea were also similar between groups.
Comment: Surgeons can select closure technique based on workflow and preference.
