Closed incision negative pressure therapy to reduce surgical site infection in high-risk gastrointestinal surgery: a randomized controlled trial.

A total of 138 patients undergoing colorectal or HPB surgery were included. Use of the vacuum dressing did not reduce the rate of surgical site infection: 14 versus 17 per cent for standard dressings.

Comment: No advantage here. May be that vacuum dressings effective only for specific wounds.
