A total of 150 RCTs including 22,260 patients demonstrated an overall delayed gastric emptying rate of 11.9 per cent, with multiple identified strategies (10+) that reduced rate of delayed gastric emptying. Only a minimally invasive approach was confirmed to be preventive in meta-analysis.
Comment: Only minimally invasive left pancreatectomy was shown to reduce delayed gastric emptying.
