Overall physical function measured by the 6-minute walking test did not improve significantly after the exercise programme in this study that included 182 patients. The effect was, however, significant in women. Patients in the exercise group maintained fatigue scores, whereas they fell in the control group.
Comment: Some beneficial effects, but not across the board.
