Some 847 frail older (>60 years) adults were included. The group receiving home-based prehabilitation did not experience different disability score (mean difference -1.4, 97.5 per cent confidence interval -4.9 to 2.0, P=0.36), complications (odds ratio 1.05, 0.73 to 1.49, P=0.78) when compared to standard care group. The subgroup that completed >75% of prescribed exercises reported lower disability scores (mean difference -4.9, -9.8 to -0.01, P=0.02).
Comment: Important study, though unresolved issues with regards to effective programme delivery and adherence.
