Some 225 patients were included, and the severity of post-thrombotic syndrome was lower in the endovascular-therapy group (adjusted difference in venous clinical severity score -2.0; P=0.001), with better associated quality of life (adjusted difference 14.5 points, P<0.001) at 6 months. Bleeding was more common in the endovascular group (11.6 versus 3.6 per cent, P=0.03).
Comment: Endovascular therapy improved post-thrombotic syndrome and quality of life, albeit at the cost of increased bleeding, highlighting the need for careful patient selection.
