The ASGBI is the leading professional body for General Surgeons in Great Britain and Ireland, advancing surgical excellence and patient care. The ASGBI is a relevant and inclusive community, which empowers members to excel, by promoting innovation, collaboration, and best practice.

Aims:
1. To represent general surgeons in the wider healthcare community, working with stakeholders to shape future policy.
2. To promote diversity and inclusion within the surgical profession, recognising and valuing the contributions of all members.
3. To facilitate the highest standards of surgical education and training to improve patient care.
4. To foster a culture of innovation and research in general, emergency and trauma surgery.

Annual congress


ASGBI’s annual International Surgical Congress is held in Spring. It promises to be an exciting blend of educational symposiums on topics covering the general surgery spectrum such as Emergency General Surgery, Trauma, Research, Sustainable Surgery, Motivation, Training and Wellbeing.  Our Director of Scientific Programme, curates a diverse mix of sessions designed to excite, challenge and collaborate with our sister associations within General Surgery. The ASGBI International Surgical Congress presents an incredible opportunity for delegates to learn and network with their fellow colleagues.
