Effect of smartphone app postoperative home monitoring after oncologic surgery on quality of recovery. A randomized clinical trial.

Use of app-based follow-up improved quality of recovery and patient satisfaction in this study of 72 patients. Surgeons reported complications were detected earlier.

Comment: I presumed patients preferred the personal touch, but perhaps the advantages of not having to travel, and familiarity with telephone consultation following the pandemic mean times have changed.
