Transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation versus metoclopramide for moderate to severe postoperative nausea and vomiting: A randomized clinical trial

Some 232 women were included, and transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation (TEAS) was associated with significantly higher 2-hour post-operative nausea/vomiting (PONV) remission rate (77.6 versus 55.2 per cent, P<0.001) and lower 24-hour relapse rate (12.1 versus 56.3 per cent, P<0.001).
Comment: Wearable TEAS outperforms metoclopramide for breakthrough PONV, though its generalizability remains to be established.
