Some 356 patients were included, and after a median follow-up of 41 months, 4-year overall survival was similar between groups (77.0 versus 76.4 per cent; hazard ratio 1.11, 95 per cent confidence interval 0.57 to 2.17, P=0.37), while grade 3-4 haematological toxicity and serious adverse events were substantially more frequent with intensified chemotherapy (serious adverse events 47 versus 26 per cent).
Comment: Chemotherapy plus olaparib matched intensified chemotherapy with stem cell rescue, at far less toxicity.
