Fifty-five patients were randomized and serious adverse events were similar between groups (difference −0.07, 95 per cent confidence interval −0.59 to 0.43). Exercise group experienced fewer non-serious adverse events were fewer (−4.65, −9.14 to −0.17), shorter time to postoperative chemotherapy (25 versus 42 days), and less frequent dose modifications (relative risk 0.55, 0.35 to 0.88).
Comment: Early postoperative exercise looks safe and may speed return to adjuvant chemotherapy after liver resection.
