Ashley J. Williamson, MD, presents on the current role of robotics in vascular surgery. In this presentation she covers the current training paradigm for robotic surgery, followed by the robotic vascular surgery experiences – both in the US and internationally, as well as her specific interest in robotic vascular surgery is for its use in femoral-popliteal bypass. To close, she looks at ethical and logistical hurdles for the development of this technology.
Dr. Williamson is currently developing the robotics vascular surgery program at the University of Chicago.
