A total of 184 patients underwent cytoreductive surgery with or without HIPEC. The three year locoregional control rate was improved by additional HIPEC: 97.6 versus 87.6 per cent, P=0.03. Disease-free survival was similar between the groups. Patients with stage pT4 disease were particularly advantaged.
