Vein bypass versus nitinol stent in long femoropopliteal lesions. 4-year results of a randomized controlled trial.

Enzmann FK, Nierlich P, Hölzenbein T, Aspalter M, Kluckner M, Hitzl W et al.

Ann Surg 2023; 277: e1208-e1214.

The study included 218 legs in 209 patients. After four years, there was no difference in patency, limb survival or complications, but patients who had a surgical bypass reported greater clinical improvement.

Comment: More fuel for the debate started by the and BESTCLI and BASIL trials.
