Collaborative team training in virtual reality is superior to individual learning for performing complex open surgery. A randomized controlled trial.

The trial included 40 participants. Those who trained together virtually performed better (skills scores) on a hip arthroplasty model. They were 33 per cent quicker (P<0.001) and made fewer technical errors (10.4 vs 22.6, P<0.001).
